Platinum Jubilee: Celebrating 70 years!

November 5 & 6, 2022

This is the Platinum Jubilee year for SBPC – our 70th birthday of the church.  Not only that, it is the 70th birthday of our Boy Scout Troop #478.  Plus, it is the 50th birthday of the Spring Branch Presbyterian Academy Day Care.  (Academy’s 50th anniversary celebration delayed due to COVID.)

With so many things to rejoice, we decided we needed two days of celebration – November 5 and 6, 2022.  On Saturday, November 5, we will begin with a Jubilee Festival on our church’s campus from 10am to 2pm.  On Sunday, November 6, we will celebrate with worship and afterwards with a catered lunch in The Gathering Place.

There will be no charges to attend either event, except for food at the Jubilee Festival.  (We will be accepting donations at the catered lunch on Sunday, November 6.)

At the Jubilee Festival on November 5 there will be over 40 activities, games and rentals plus all types of carnival foods.  We will also have several of our missions represented, a groundbreaking of our new Academy playground at 11am, and Boy Scout photos (past and present) taken at 11:30am.

In addition, the Boy Scouts will have an open house at the Scout Hut on Saturday, and then again before Worship and after the luncheon on Sunday.

Since we are using almost all of the church campus and parking lot for the Jubilee Festival, we will have plenty of parking spaces available off-campus with buses transporting people to/from SBPC parking lot.

Worship service on November 6 will include posting/retrieving colors by our Boy Scouts, our choir members being joined by past members, and hopefully some of our past pastors assisting with the service.

The celebration continues after Worship with a catered lunch in The Gathering Place.

Whew!  Lots to do, but many hands make light work.  We definitely could use your help, so please sign-up as a volunteer.  This is your church; we hope you will come and be a part of it all.

In the months ahead more information will be made available.

If you know of someone who may be interested in receiving information about this celebration, please give names, current addresses, or emails to the office or to Sarah Dikeman.
