For all of our friends out of town who cannot give their time, we could use 100% of whatever you can give to support families who are flooded out.

Many of our community have lost homes, cars, or all of their belongings.  Every age, every level of means, race, creed, and faith has been affected.  Some close friends and family, members, and their families, and many people we have never met, but need a hand.  Our part of Houston came through this crisis better than almost any other, so we are turning our attention to helping those who have been devastated.  We are working directly, and with other churches and community organizations on collecting donations, arranging shelter and housing.  We are currently working to assess needs, and help where we can, get people out shelters, even get the basics, from toothbrushes and baby items to a dry place to stay.   The “we” is not our church, it is the church, individual members, and thousands upon thousands of volunteers.  This is not a small need or task.  It is a work in process.  And seeing this devastation first hand, the prevailing feeling is why have I not helped more.  So many of you have reached out to me and others asking what you can do.  Anything you can do is appreciated.

If you want to give money, we are thankful.  We will get it to the right place.  100% of any donation will be distributed by Spring Branch Presbyterian Church to where it is needed most, used to buy supplies, food, childcare, or help with housing and other needs, to those in need in the Houston and surrounding areas.  We have family after family in touch with us, and have relationships with dozens of local organizations we support, from food banks to family support organizations.  We do this all the time, and our Benevolences team will be in full swing.  $5, $20, $100, $1,000+.  Any amount you want.  We are a 60+ year old 501 c3 nonprofit.  Donations are tax deductible.
