Respecting Community Standards

Posted on August 26, 2011

If we disobey the rules in our schools, the consequences can be detention or suspension for a specific number of days.  If we disobey the rules in our community, we can be arrested and fined.  If we know the consequences for our disobedience, we should do everything possible to obey the rules.

Paul’s advice in 2 Corinthians 8:21 still applies today, “We are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of men.”

In our lesson this Sunday, we will focus on the story of Boaz who serves as a model for us as he carefully follows all of the Israelite’s community rules as he helps Ruth and Naomi as their kinsman and redeemer.

Join “The Saints Under Construction” Sunday school class at 9:30am on July 31 in Room 2 in The Gathering Place.
